How to Share a Skill with Teammates
Last updated: March 9, 2026
To share a Skill, ask Ellie who to share it with. She will handle the rest and confirm once it is done.
Sharing is how teams standardise processes. When an acquisitions director builds a deal screening Skill that reflects the fund's investment criteria and shares it with the whole acquisitions team, every analyst screens deals the same way — no setup required, no process drift. It is also how repeatable processes scale: new hires can immediately run the same Skills as experienced team members.
How to Share a Skill
Tell Ellie which Skill to share and with whom. Sharing can be done in two ways:
With a specific person — "Share the Quarterly Rent Roll Analysis Skill with Sarah."
With the organisation — "Share the Quarterly Rent Roll Analysis Skill with the whole organisation."
After sharing, Ellie will confirm who the Skill was shared with. The recipient can run the Skill immediately.
💡 Tip: Let colleagues know when a Skill has been shared with them — they will not receive an automatic notification, but the Skill will appear on their Skills page right away.
What the Recipient Sees and Can Do
The Shared Skill appears on the recipient's Skills page under Shared Skills. They can see the name and description, and run it with their own documents straight away.Recipients cannot edit or delete the original Skill. This is by design — it ensures the shared process stays consistent for everyone using it.
Customising a Shared Skill
To modify a Shared Skill — adjusting the output format, adding a step, or changing how an edge case is handled — ask Ellie to create a personal copy. The copy becomes a personal Skill, fully available to edit, share, or delete. The original Shared Skill stays unchanged for everyone else.
This same approach works for Platform-provided Skills. To tailor one to a firm's specific process, ask Ellie to copy it and then edit the personal version.
💡 Tip: To customise a Skill someone else shared, ask Ellie to create a personal copy. Full control over the copy is available while the original stays unchanged.
How to Stop Sharing
Ask Ellie to unshare the Skill — for example, "Stop sharing the Quarterly Rent Roll Analysis Skill with Sarah." The Skill will be removed from the recipient's Skills page. To revoke access from the whole organisation, tell Ellie and she will handle it.
