How to Delete a Skill
Last updated: March 9, 2026
To delete a Skill, ask Ellie — for example, "Delete the Quarterly Rent Roll Analysis Skill." She will confirm the intent before proceeding.
Deletion is permanent. There is no archive, recycle bin, or undo option. Once a Skill is deleted, it cannot be recovered.
If the Skill has been shared with colleagues, Ellie will warn that it will be removed from everyone's Skills page. Acknowledgement is required before she proceeds.
⚠ Important: Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If the Skill is shared with colleagues, it will be removed from their Skills page too. It is worth checking with the team before deleting a Shared Skill.
Only the creator of a Skill can delete it. Shared Skills and Platform-provided Skills cannot be deleted — they can only be stopped from being used.
Any output previously generated by the Skill is unaffected. Past results remain in the conversation threads where they were produced.
When to Delete vs. When to Keep
Deletion makes sense when a Skill has been replaced by a better version, when the process it captures is no longer relevant (e.g., a retired reporting format), or when it was created for testing and is no longer needed.
It is worth pausing if the Skill is shared with colleagues who may still rely on it, or if it encodes a repeatable process that might be useful later. Since there is no way to recover a deleted Skill, keeping Skills that are inactive but potentially valuable is recommended — they take up no resources sitting on the Skills page.
